Hand-stamped Ornaments

I loved reading all your comments on my last post! Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking even more about stockpiling gifts today. I stopped by the library earilier and I found a few books about a "Handmade Christmas," so now I'm really excited! I'll have to start formulating my plans.

I have an album of Stamped Objects on my personal gallery where I've uploaded pictures of gifts I've made. Here is one of my favorites from two Christmases ago:

View the card and see the supplies I used here, at my gallery: Ornament - Angel.

And here's how I made it:

I purchased this ornament for only a few cents at the local craft store. I coated it with a layer of white acrylic paint and when it was dry, I stamped it with black StazOn ink. Then I set about coloring it in with markers. The base of white paint would quickly absorb the marker's ink, so it was easy to create shading and variation with my markers--I just added more or used less. My markers acted more like little watercolor brushes. Very easy to use.

And that's it! That's all I did. I made four of these in one day. You will see two other designs at my gallery (see the link above). Lots of fun. Very quick. And cheap, too.

Hope you enjoy this idea! And feel free to share some of your own. Happy stamping!
