Okay, so I have a question: Does anyone else find it hard to make the stamp set Lexicon of Love stamp set look good? I mean, aside from using a marker to just stamp the main words (cherish, friends, etc.), I don't use this set because I don't like how it ends up looking! (Except for this card, which was a CASE of something I saw and liked: Even More Distressing.) Well, this was my attempt to try something new with it.
This card uses the Cracked Glass technique (on the swatch of greeting). One of my all time favorites!
Well, I'm off to actually write a note to a friend with this card. I know--what a concept! Ha!

I agree - that's a tough set to work with. This is one of my favorite creations: http://splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=105573&cat=500&ppuser=1613 Sorry the photo is so lousy, but there's a small torn window to let the main word show through. Kind of a fun effect. In fact, I may have to try it again soon!
I like how you also used the words down at the bottom of the card!
I liked this set so much when I first saw it, but now I only like it when I see parts of it used instead of the whole. I think this is a general problem I have with square/rectangle stamps. :\
My favourite card uses Lexicon of Love, which I made at a 10 card camp by my upline, Caroline Lebel.
I'll try and describe it:
The large solid flower from Bud Basics is sgamped in C.Celery on a square of Whisper White. On top of the image, the friend stamp from Lexicon is stamped in Basic Brown. Then it's layered with choc chip, then a wide layer of Celery, then a layer of choc chip again.
The background/card front is Cool Caribbean stamped with the small flowers from Bud Basic- the solid image in white craft and then the line images in choc chip. These 2 are not lined up, just stamped randomly.
The square layer is placed near the top centre of the Caribbean.
I think Lexicon of Love looks good in brown rather than black; I also really like the weathered image behind it.
