100 Posts & My Good Friend

This is my 100th post and I'd like to dedicate it to my best stamping pal, Erika Martin.

If it wasn't for Erika sending me a gift of hand-stamped baby cards all those years ago, I'd probably be blogging about my knitting instead of my stamping. But thanks to her passing the "stamping bug" along to me, I'm here today to talk about all my little adventures in stamping and my knitting blog has been all but abandoned. Ha!

But seriously, if it wasn't for Erika, I would have never known that I could do something so creative. I would have never known that I was capable of spreading the love of stamping through teaching. And it's my love of teaching that lead to this blog here. I know my designs are not all that original and my cards aren't of the caliber you'll find on other blogs. But this blog isn't about me and my artwork. It's about you! I'm doing this for you, to pass along all the little things I've learned along the way. The cards are just a visual bonus to help me communicate my point. Ha! Those of you who e-mail me or leave comments to say that the tips I shared have helped you--well, you people just make my day! I love to hear from you. That's what this blog is all about! And it's my good friend, Erika who we have to thank for that.

So, Erika, this post is for you. And I'm using your artwork, as well. Here is a lovely autumn RAK that Erika recently sent me:

Erika used the Double Resist technique for this card. It's one of my personal favorites! How did she know? She also made a similarly beautiful sample like this one for a tutorial on her blog that you can check out here: Traditional Emboss Resist...Fall Whimsy. Ah! She's so talented. I love that card, too. Thanks for sharing your talents with us, my friend. I look forward to seeing more fabulous things from you in the near future...

Thanks for the comment you left on one of my cards at SCS! I've followed your links around and just wanted to let you know how much you've inspired me! Thanks so much for sharing your site and Erika's with a relative newcomer like me!
