Multicolored Markers

Just in time for fall, here's lovely little card:

Copyright Stampin' Up!® 1990-2005

You can view the card and comment here, at my gallery: Fall Leaves.

And here's how I made it:

First, I gathered several ink pads (yellow, olive and rust), several markers (yellow, mustard, olive, rust and ruby) and a spray bottle of water. I took my image and inked it up in a light color. I then started to apply darker colors directly on top of the lighter ink (since it was light, it wouldn't hurt my darker ink pads or markers). When I had about three colors on my stamp, I held it away from me and lightly misted the rubber. Then I stamped my image onto Kraft cardstock. The result was both fun and beautiful. And without my markers, this technique would have been near impossible to use.

Using markers is often the only way you can have multiple colors on a solid image. Experiment with your own set of markers and stamps. Think about what parts of each image you could color differently, instead of stamping all in one color. Try it; It's so easy and I know you'll love it.

Wow! You are very talented! I saw your post on Laurie's blog and decided to check you out. I was just thinking last night I want to make my own Christmas cards this year, you have inspired me! Thanks.

Thank you!

We haven't met yet, but my husband and I are becoming members at Chesapeake. I think we sat in the same row as you last Sunday. Anyway, I'll introduce myself to you this Sunday. That way, if you'd like help with those Christmas cards, I can help you in person! ;)

You did sit in the same row with us! I said to my husband that I was too embarrassed to tell you that because you would have thought, I would have at least said hi to you on Sunday. Forgive me for my Sunday-Morning self-centeredness. Looking forward to saying hi on Sunday. Love your cards, thanks for the offer.

I'll forgive you if you'll forgive me! ;) Just because we're semi-new doesn't excuse me from not saying "hi." Besides, I've been meaning to talk to your husband after I saw the announcement in the bulletin asking for people to serve. My husband and I are dying to jump in somewhere. We used to go to a SGM church (in Tennessee) and we feel SO at home already. :) Actually, you can read about that here: Seitler Family

Now you'll know all about us before you even say "hi" in person! ;)

Wow! I just went to my first Stampin' Up party last Monday. I really enjoyed myself and was inspired by how relaxing it is. I am hoping to learn more about this awesome stuff. I would like to perfect some techniques and well as learn some new things. I have never seen a watermark stamp nor have I used chalks. That was awesome! Thank you for your awe inspiring gallery. You do a beautiful job!

Rebecca, I'm so glad to hear that my blog has inspired you! And thank you for your kind compliments. Stamping is so much fun. And I love doing workshops...getting to show people how they can use these things in person. The excitement is contageous. ;)
